For Helena Matos, every opportunity begins with gratitude… gratitude for where she’s been, who has supported her, and the dreams still ahead. “To start off,” she says, “my achievement is to be writing this and thanking Paris Runway Official.”
We sat down with Helena Matos in October to chat about what was next for the art lover who has traveled all throughout Europe exploring art and fashion in each city she found herself in. Not only did she explore but she was a professional dancer in the city of love, Paris… as well as found herself walking as a model on the Runway in Portugal. Her story was one that was meant to be told.
Born and raised in Portugal, Helena’s story is one of quiet strength and relentless passion. After completing her studies, she moved to Paris, where she pursued her lifelong love of dance where she was a performer as a professional jazz dancer and immersing herself in the city’s rhythm of art and fashion. When an opportunity arose to work in Italy, she followed her intuition and relocated to Milan, where she lived for four transformative years before returning home to Portugal.
Throughout her journey, Helena has held fast to her belief in timing and perseverance. “I’ve always been focused on my goals,” she explains. “Things happen when they’re meant to. Being patient is also a virtue.” Her dedication soon led her to the world of modeling… first through acting and television work, and then through an invitation to walk in the White Wedding show in Porto, the city she now calls home.
Since that first show, Helena hasn’t looked back. Her elegance, discipline, and ability to move with intention which are skills honed through years as a dancer. Yet she remains grounded, always acknowledging the support of those closest to her. “I’ve always had my family behind me,” she says, “and my boyfriend constantly encourages me to follow my dreams. I’m grateful every day to the universe.”
As she continues to build her modeling career, Helena’s dream is clear: to walk the runways of Paris and Milan, where her story first began. Her passion for performance, her artistic foundation, and her resilient spirit make her one of Portugal’s most promising emerging talents.
“I’m an emerging model who doesn’t give up,” she says with a smile. And with every step she takes, it’s evident that Helena Matos is not just walking a runway but she’s walking the path of a dream that keeps unfolding, one graceful stride at a time.
