De La Soul is stepping into a new chapter, and it feels like watching hip hop royalty take a well-deserved victory lap. Today, the legendary trio returns with their new single “Day In The Sun (Gettin’ wit U)” featuring Q-Tip and Yummy Bingham, now available on all major streaming platforms. It is more than a release; it is a reunion years in the making, reconnecting De La Soul with Q-Tip in a way that instantly transports fans back to the golden era of Native Tongues.

That original movement sparked a wave of creativity that shaped an entire generation. It championed originality, expressive storytelling, and a refusal to follow trends. With “Day In The Sun,” De La Soul taps into that same spirit but filters it through the wisdom and evolution of artists who have lived, grown, and reinvented themselves.

The new single follows their current release, “The Package,” produced by the iconic Pete Rock. Both tracks lead into the group’s forthcoming album Cabin in the Sky, their tenth studio album and their first full-length project in nine years. The album drops November 21 via Mass Appeal as part of the label’s Legend Has It series, a campaign honoring seven iconic artists with new releases from names like Slick Rick, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Big L, Ghostface Killah, and Nas with DJ Premier.

Cabin in the Sky highlights De La Soul’s deep legacy while pushing their sound into new, energized territory. The project brings together top-tier producers and collaborators who respect where De La Soul has been and are excited to help shape where they go next. On “Day In The Sun,” the group teams up with Supa Dave West to blend timeless lyricism with fresh production that feels warm, bright, and hopeful.

“This record is about gratitude, joy, and rebirth,” Posdnuos explains. “We have been through storms, and now it is time to stand back in the sun.”

Fans can stream “Day In The Sun (Gettin’ wit U)” and “The Package” today on all digital platforms and can pre save Cabin in the Sky ahead of its November 21 release.
